News flash: The Democratic National Convention in Milwaukee will feature musical performances “from some of the most popular artists in the nation.” However, they won’t be in Milwaukee.

Like nearly everything else with Milwaukee’s DNC experience, the convention’s announcement of its entertainment lineup including Common, Billie Eilish, Jennifer Hudson and John Legend is a letdown…

In addition to the big-name acts, the Aug. 17 opening-night program will feature a performance of “The Star Spangled Banner” by youth choir members from across the country. Democratic National Convention Committee partner Commonwealth Youthchoirs assembled a 57-member choir of young people for the show.
